Soil Family Expo 2025: A Weekend of Growth, Connection & Community

Our hearts are full. Our spirits are lifted. Our soil family keeps growing.

4th Annual Soil Family Expo Recap

Soil Family ExpoWhat an incredible weekend in Savannah, Georgia! The 4th Annual Soil Family Expo was nothing short of amazing—and it’s all thanks to YOU. From the very first hug to the final breakfast toast, this event reminded us why we gather: to grow, to learn, to share, and to celebrate this homesteading journey together.

🌟 Thursday: Welcome Dinner at Jim ‘N Nick’s BBQ
The weekend kicked off with the smell of hickory smoke and the warmth of reunion. We gathered at Jim ‘N Nick’s BBQ, where soil sisters and brothers from across the country came together for our welcome dinner. New faces were welcomed with open arms, and familiar friends picked up right where they left off. Over plates of pulled pork, mac & cheese, and Southern-style hospitality, the weekend officially began with laughter and love.

🍊 Friday Morning: Tour of Savannah Citrus
Friday morning brought clear skies and the sweet scent of citrus as we toured the Savannah Citrus Farm. It wasn’t just a stroll through fruit trees—it was an educational deep dive! We learned how to grow citrus successfully in coastal Georgia’s unique climate, from choosing rootstock to protecting crops through winter. Guests asked questions, took notes, and left inspired to experiment with citrus in their own gardens. It was a standout event for growers of all levels.

🌅 Friday Evening: Meet & Greet at Planet Riverside
As the sun dipped low over the Savannah River, we gathered at Planet Riverside for the Soil Family Meet & Greet. Set right on the riverfront, this event was hot in temperature—but even hotter in vibe. The energy was electric! We mingled, exchanged seeds, shared stories, and posed for photos with fellow growers and content creators. Live music floated through the air, giveaways brought surprises, and the community spirit was stronger than ever.

🛍️ Saturday: Soil Family Expo 2025 – The Main Event!
The big day started early, with vendors setting up at the Savannah Children’s Museum. From the very first booth to the last handshake, the 2025 Soil Family Expo was packed with inspiration and action. Here’s what went down:
Over 20 vendors from across the U.S. offering seeds, plants, fresh produce, herbal remedies, handmade crafts, homestead supplies, and more.

Live demonstrations on gardening, composting, water catchment, and fermenting foods.

Mini workshops throughout the day from homesteading experts, herbalists, and soil lovers.

Giveaways & raffles that kept the crowd buzzing with excitement all day long!

The museum grounds were alive with joy, curiosity, and creativity as families, solo growers, and community groups bonded over a shared love of living off the land and doing things naturally.

🍽️ Saturday Night: Dinner at The Lady & Sons
After a full day of fun and learning, we gathered for a special family-style dinner at The Lady & Sons—Savannah’s most iconic restaurant. Surrounded by laughter, hugs, and heartfelt conversations, we feasted on fried chicken, collard greens, biscuits, peach cobbler, and more. The vibe? Unforgettable. This dinner brought us together not just as homesteaders—but as family.

🥞 Sunday Morning: Farewell Breakfast at Metro Diner
All good things must come to an end—but we weren’t going out quietly! Sunday morning, we met up at Metro Diner for a casual goodbye breakfast. Coffee cups clinked, plates were piled high, and new friends exchanged contact info. It was a soft and soulful sendoff, full of warmth, gratitude, and excitement for what’s to come.

🎉 What’s Next? Our Anniversary Year in 2026!
We’re already gearing up for the Soil Family Expo 2026, and guess what? It’s our 5-year anniversary, and we plan to celebrate it BIG.
🌍 Bigger events.
🎤 More speakers.
🛒 Even more vendors.
💚 And deeper connections.
👉 The official Expo website is currently under construction, and when it launches, you’ll find all the info, ticket links, and vendor registration details in one easy place. Stay tuned—we can’t wait to show you what’s coming!

To every vendor, volunteer, speaker, family, and supporter—thank you for being a part of this movement. Thank you for believing in community, connection, and cultivating a better life. We love y’all and we can’t wait to do it again next year!
Until then—keep growing, keep glowing, and keep showing up. The soil family is strong because of YOU.
