Mark your calendars, pack up the fam, and get ready to roll up your sleeves—Black’s Tropical Homestead is heading to Jemison, Alabama for one of the best garden gatherings of the season!

This isn’t just another Saturday—it’s The Great Fall Garden Festival, a full-day celebration of homesteading, gardening, and community, all set in the beautiful grounds of Petals from the Past. And guess what? We’ll be right in the mix, representing our homestead and sharing the passion behind what we do.

🌿 What to Expect:

Whether you’re knee-deep in compost or just dreaming of raised beds, this festival has something for you. Get ready for hands-on workshops, homesteading how-tos, and a chance to connect with some of your favorite YouTubers and creators in the garden space—including us!

Sherrie Black will be leading a can’t-miss workshop on Medicinal Herbs—come learn how we grow and use healing plants right from the homestead. From teas and salves to tinctures and tonics, she’ll be sharing the practical knowledge that’s been passed down through generations.

🛍 Vendor Market + Farm Goods

You know we love a good market—and this one’s packed with fresh produce, handmade goods, seeds, crafts, and more from local artisans and growers. Stop by the Black’s Tropical Homestead booth to stock up on wellness products, raw honey, salves, and maybe even snag a few surprises we’ve been working on.

🍽 Food + 🎶 Music

Fuel up at the food trucks (hello Front Porch Grill and La Michoacana 👋), and enjoy live music from JQ The One Man Band while you explore. Bring a chair or a blanket and make a day of it!

I’m particularly excited about the educational speaker series. We’ll hear from experts in various fields who will share their knowledge on gardening, homesteading, and sustainable living. It’s a great chance to pick up some new tips and tricks.

I can’t wait to get involved in the hands-on skills classes. These sessions will cover everything from planting techniques to DIY projects, offering a fun and interactive way to learn new skills.
